BCS - Open Source in Telecommunications

The BCS Open Source Specialist Group has joined forces with BT to bring an event that seeks to provide insights into the state of the art of open source in telecommunications. The event will consist of a series of talks followed by a panel-led, open discussion centred upon the opportunities that exist and the challenges that the telecommunications industry and open source community faces. Andrew Savory, LiMo's Open Source Manager will be discussing "Open Source in Mobile - With over 70% of the platform based on open source components, what are the benefits and challenges of open source adoption, and what is the LiMo approach to working with Open Source?" The event will be held at the BCS Central London Offices, First Floor, The Davidson Building, 5 Southampton Street, London WC2E 7HA on Thursday 22nd April, 2010, from 10.00 to 17.30.

FOSDEM '10 is a free and non-commercial event organized by the community, for the community and is being held on Feb 6-7 in Brussels. Its goal is to provide Free and Open Source developers a place to meet. LiMo's CTO and Open Source Manager will be attending this event and will be participating in some activities in collaboration with GNOME Foundation.
Mobile World Congress 2010
Taking place in Barcelona on Feb 15 - 18, Mobile World Congress is the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry with a stimulating and insightful congress that brings together prominent leaders and personalities from mobile operators and equipment vendors, as well as Internet and entertainment professionals. LiMo's Executive Director, Morgan Gillis, will be participating in a panel session on Monday 15 Feb at 14.45 on "Mobile Applications - Innovation vs. Fragmentation".
